Frequently Asked Questions

Can I work with David as a coach?

Yes, of course! If you choose the Private Phenomenal journey you will have David as your dedicated one-on-one coach. And here's the thing - if programs aren't your thing, you can still work with David as your personal sobriety coach - simply drop him a message to get the ball rolling.

Who is Phenomenal for?

Phenomenal is for anyone ready to transform their relationship with alcohol, whether you're sober-curious, worried about your drinking, or have tried to quit before. It's especially effective for those seeking a structured, supportive approach that fits into their lifestyle and who prefer personalised guidance over traditional group recovery programs.

What makes Phenomenal different?

Phenomenal combines lived experience with professional expertise, creating a program that truly understands your journey. Unlike traditional approaches, we make sobriety engaging and achievable through our unique THRIVE system, supportive community, and evidence-based techniques. I believe sobriety isn't punishment - it's privilege. With personalised guidance, proven methods, and genuine understanding from someone who's been exactly where you are, lasting change becomes natural.

How does Phenomenal work?

Phenomenal guides you through a structured 12-week journey using my proven THRIVE system. You'll receive personalised coaching, access evidence-based techniques, and join a supportive community of like-minded people. Whether you choose solo, group, or private options, you'll build sustainable habits, develop coping strategies, and celebrate milestones along the way. It's recovery designed to feel natural, engaging, and achievable - not overwhelming.

Is Phenomenal really that effective?

Phenomenal's 98% success rate comes from combining professional expertise with lived experience. The program uses evidence-based techniques, personalised support, and our unique THRIVE Sobriety System to make sobriety feel natural and achievable. Unlike traditional approaches, Phenomenal creates lasting change by focusing on building new patterns while celebrating every milestone of your journey.

Can I do Phenomenal if I'm drinking dependently?

If you are currently drinking dependently, it's essential to seek immediate medical care before starting any sobriety program. Stopping alcohol suddenly when physically dependent can be extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening. While I'm not a medical doctor, I can help guide you toward appropriate medical support and then work with you on your sobriety journey once it's safe to do so. Your safety is the absolute priority - please speak with your GP or contact your local alcohol service for medical supervision before stopping. Once you're medically stable, we can develop a personalised plan for your recovery using the Phenomenal approach.

Is Phenomenal guaranteed to stop my drinking?

While I can't guarantee specific outcomes since everyone's journey is unique, I can promise you'll receive proven tools, genuine support, and expert guidance every step of the way. Phenomenal provides everything you need to succeed, but ultimate success depends on your commitment to the process. That's why we offer a 14-day satisfaction guarantee - try the program and see if it's right for you

How long does Phenomenal take?

The core program runs for 12 weeks, including 2 self-directed weeks for gathering resources. However, you'll have access to all materials and the Phenomenal Community for 12 months after enrolment. You can choose to follow our suggested timeline or move at your own pace - the program adapts to fit your life and needs.

Will Phenomenal work for other addictions, such as drugs?

Yes, the core principles and strategies in Phenomenal can be effectively applied to other substance use challenges. As an accredited addiction specialist, I've helped many people overcome various substance dependencies using these same evidence-based techniques. The program can be tailored to address your specific situation and goals.

Is Phenomenal a recognised medical intervention?

No. The role of Phenomenal is not to provide medical services, or diagnose, treat, or cure any disease, condition, or other physical or mental ailment. I am an addiction and recovery therapist. My background is in addiction and I am an experienced, trained practitioner. The role of Phenomenal is to support you as you reach your wellness goals and implement positive, sustainable lifestyle changes. Phenomenal is, at no time, acting in the capacity of a medical doctor, psychologist, or any other licensed healthcare provider

Who is behind Phenomenal?

David Henzell is the founder and creator of Phenomenal. As a recovered alcoholic turned professional practitioner, David combines lived experience with expert training to guide others toward lasting sobriety. Having walked this path himself, he understands the challenges you face and has dedicated his career to helping people transform their relationship with alcohol through compassionate, evidence-based support.

Who or what exactly is Solly?

Solly is my little AI Helper. His mother calls him Soloman, but you can call him Sol. He is here to answer questions and provide guidance and advice - both on the Phenomenal Program and on all things quitting drinking and getting sober. You could say he looks after the joint when I'm unavailable. A bit like Henry (the mild-mannered janitor) on Hong Kong Fuey. Solly has been trained using this website and a myriad of other relevant materials - you'll be surprised! But never fear, he's smart enough to know ehen he can't help you and can always put you through to a human.
